The work presented a challenge in anatomical modeling and monumental assembly at LC Taller de Esculturas. Its humanist-influenced heroic musculature, the physical tension of the raised arms and the inclination of the torso were precisely translated into a structurally viable, six-meter-tall bronze casting.

En busca de la luz, by Jaime Mejía Jaramillo, presents an Adonis with defined anatomy that brings the humanist tradition into dialogue with the vulnerability of the human condition. With arms extended toward the sky in supplication and eyes looking upward, the figure embodies the constant search for existential answers and an appeal to a higher power, reminding viewers of their finite place within the cosmos.
Permanently installed in the urban space in front of the Diario del Otún Building in Pereira, Colombia, the work is a landmark of the city’s sculptural and architectural heritage.
